FASHIONABLE FEMME // SOPHIA AMORUSO

I haven't done a fashionable femme post in a while I promisse I will give the blog the attention that is need it soon at least I hope. Today's fashionable femme is style-savy entrepreneur and owner of NastyGal.com, Sophia Amoruso. Sophia, a previous self-proclaimed dumpster diver, showed us that there is no direct route to success as she grew her vintage eBay store into a multi-million dollar company. Sophia proves that hard work, passion and a great flare for fashion will conquer all.
Known for her rad style and her girl boss attitude, I am not surprised Amoruso opted for a blunt Pulp Fiction-inspired bob (did I mention I chop my hair off yet again just to imitate hers). Her eye for detail and creative direction has us all vigorously jotting down notes on our wish list. I can't help but be mesmerized by her ambition, hard work and great style. She’s telling all her secrets in her new tell all, self help book, #GIRLBOSS and I can’t wait to read it.
This Thursday take inspiration from Sophia Amoruso and take charge of your style by showing your inner #GIRLBOSS!

IT'S THE LITTLE THINGS.

The weather was spectacular yesterday, so I left the sink full of dirty dishes, the floors messy and the beds unmade and we head outside for a picnic, because heck nothing matters more to me than my kids happiness and sometimes mine.

We packed our zarape, a veggie sandwich for mama, a ham sandwich for Luca and a extra ham & cheese sandwich for Azul, we found the perfect spot close to a few threes but not so close so we could see the airplanes and the puffy clouds.

Luca and Azul run wild most of the time, chasing each other and laughing. Their laughs felt right in my heart, while they run I started reading an old favorite The old man & the sea God! I forgot how amazing the book was! at one point Azul came to me and told me "This is the best day eve" and then Luca agree with her. We shared a mango and a orange together while we talk about colors, numbers and power rangers.

Azul the photographer strikes again, when most of the times she usually just takes photos of weird things sometimes she gets it right like this one above, my sweet boy was singing to me because I am "so biutiful" for him, sigh! when did I got so lucky? I have no idea how these tiny humans pick me to be their mom but I am forever grateful that I am.

My dear monsters you are my favorite people in the entire world!

So, let me give you a quick tip when the sun is out and the weather is good grab a blanket and a few snacks and head outside, don't make it too fancy that is going to stress you out! because the point is that you enjoy yourself and your company all surrounded by the beauty of mother nature.

Remember it's the little things that matter!

#redballonsforryan

I been trying to write this post for about ten times now and every time I start typing my chest constricts and my stomach flip flops, so here goes to nothing.

My heart felt heavy as I stroll down my IG feed yesterday morning and learned that a sweet boy named Ryan was taken to heaven after he ran into the street after his frisbee and got hit by a truck, I immediately tilted my head back to the sky and ask why? why did it have to be a 3 1/2 year old? why did his parents have to feel the pain of loosing him? there were now living a parent's worst nightmare.

All day yesterday I kept looking at the kids while they were playing and think to myself that what happen to Ryan's family could happen to any of us which makes it so unbelievably scary, my mind goes crazy just to think about something bad happening to my children.

I took yesterday's event as a reminder of how incredible lucky I am that my kids are healthy, beautiful and that I have them by my side, I hold them a little tighter yesterday and I kiss them like a million times, things I should be doing everyday and that sometimes I don't do because "I am always busy" see how we take what we have for granted?

Sometimes horrible things have to happen for the world to share LOVE and do good things, the incredible response from everybody in social media was the most beautiful thing I have seen in a long time, people from all over the world started to share Ryan's picture with words of encouragement and prayers for the family all under the hashtag #redballonsforryan it has been amazing to see how everybody came together to support and lift the family.

I obviously don't know the family personally but I do wish that I could hold  his mama very tight, there is a lot of things you can do to donate to help out the Saldana family and to keep Ryan's legacy here are a few links for you:

"You will never have this day with your children again. Tomorrow, they would be a little older than they were today. This day is a gift, breathe and notice, smell and touch them; study their face and little feet and pay attention relish the charms of the present enjoy today momma it would be over before you know it"
