READ IF YOU TINK YOUR LIFE SUCKS...

photo not related but it makes me happy! by Joelle.

You know is going to be a good day, when you open your email and the first email in your Inbox is from your husband and the subject reads "TE AMO" (yes, with big capital letters) then you proceed to open it, just to find a youtube link of not only one of my favorite songs ever but the first song he ever dedicated to me. And just like that my morning brights up and my heart gets even bigger for him.

Life lately around our hood is been flipping awesome, the husband usually gets up around 6:00 am for work, I get up with him just to give him his lunch and give him a little smooch before he heads out, I usually go back to bed to get an extra hour of sleep, then around 7:20 am I wake up to two little creatures secretly sneaking into my bed or a fat lady (I'm referring to my dog Frida ok?) barking because she is hungry or because she has to go outside to you know! do her business.

But, this morning I decided different (wow! Let's talk about spontaneity.) I brewed some coffee, grabbed a blanket, a book and I headed to my cozy living room, there I sat for a whole hour reading my Garcia Marquez book and feeling like the luckiest woman in the world. Luckiest because I have a freaking awesome husband that works so hard for our family, luckiest because I have a healthy little Spider-man and a beautiful, independent ballerina. Luckiest because I have such a strong woman as my mother, luckiest because I have the most beautiful and inspiring brother's that even though they are younger than me, they never cease to amaze me.

I tend to always over think stuff, and most of the times I am very negative but not lately, I genuinely felt the luckiest sitting in the couch this morning, and let me tell you why, our family has been struggling with finances since Amner was under immigration arrest, nothing has been easy since he got out, he has a job and works extremely hard but we just don't seem to be able to get out of the hole, you know there is always something, the car breaks down or a kid gets sick, it's just life right? shit happens! and just to clarify things I am not complaining because I am aware that there is so many people around the globe that have it 300 times worse than us, but lucky us that we have a team full of family and friends that have our backs.

I am not even sure when my way to see life started to change, I have never been interested in having the best car, the best clothes or the latest phone. But I was very negative about everything, maybe I change because I have a very positive husband or the love I feel for my children change me, I really have no clue! what I know is that I like the new positive me a lot better! and you know what, we may not have a fancy car or a $600 stroller but dude! you know what we do have LOVE, lots of it enough to go around the world and to sparkle to some people.

Life is not always roses and sunny days filled with laughter, donuts and lattes, it's actually quite the opposite, trust me, I know! but I believe that everything that has happen to me or my family has been beautiful and necessary, while not everything has been beautiful at times, every moment had a purpose and a lesson to be taught. And at the end I love my life, I love everything about it even the no money part :)

So next time you think your life sucks, think about the world around you, think about kids dying of hunger, all the innocent people dying around the world, families being separated for immigration issues, the list can go on... so tell me do you still think your life sucks while you read this in your fancy new Iphone?

And if you answer still YES! GET UP, AND DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT!

WELCOMING AUTUMN WITH A DINNER AL FRESCO.

Last Sunday marked the first day of Autumn and I couldn't be happier about it, Don't get me wrong I love summer, the bbq's, the festivals, the lake, the pool but there is something special about the fall, it means i can finally wear leather leggings YES!! I'm kidding for us it means Bella's birthday is coming soon (actually it's today) it means is time for all the pretty colors outside, hot chocolate, pumpkin bars, carrot cake, blankets and hats.

I wanted to do something special to welcome Autumn but since I knew our Sunday was going to be crazy busy, I decided to do something on Friday night I had about 3 hours before Amner got home from work, so I got to work.

First I stop at La mie for bread I wasn't even sure what I was going to make at this point but the smell of the place ahh!! of all the bread always helps me get ideas going on my mind, I picked a french baguette and decided to make a baked-eggplant parmesan our favorite recipe is from  here, while I was cooking I decided to take our dinner al fresco.

The kids were so excited helping me set up the table with flowers and candles, when Amner got home they shut "SURPRISE" he brought home a bottle of wine, then we all help taking the meal outside and just like that, with something so simple I made my little family very happy.

Happy Thursday!!

P.S thank you so so much everybody for all the love on our wedding post, I am still working on a couple more posts about it so I hope you are not tired of it yet!

OUR WEDDING: PART UNO.

I hope that you are ready to see a lot of wedding photos, because I have a lot to share from the best day of my life.

The morning of the wedding we woke up bright and early, there was something on the air the day, something different it's hard to explain, there was so much love, excitement, I was nervous but at the same time ready to become Amner's wife. He went and got me my favorite coffee while the kids and I got ready the kids keep asking me "where we go mami?" I told them that mami and papi were getting married they didn't understand me so to get them excited I told them we were going to have a party and then they started jumping up and down, that made me even happier.

At 11:25 Amner put the kids on the car, when he turn to the door and saw me, he had this look that I never seen before, he told me that I look gorgeous, he tells me that all the time but it was the way he was looking at me that made it oh so very special!

So here they are the photos of the most amazing day, the day filled with nerves, with family, with friends, with so much love. The day were we finally united our hearts FOREVER.

Before I leave you, let's talk  about a few things, first I had no idea I was making all those facial expressions, second and I kind of hate to accept this one but when Amner was saying his vows I started to cry, I saw our life together flash before my eyes, it was crazy emotional and I had a terrible time trying to say my vows, because I couldn't hold the tears and the third one is that your first kiss as husband and wife is a hell lot better than they make it look in the movies.

We want to thank all of our family and our beautiful friends for being part of our crazy 2 week engagement and our love celebration. Also thank you to a very special and beautiful lady, Joelle for being such a talented photographer, thank you for all of our beautiful photos.

Well, for now that is it! I will be back tomorrow with part dos and maybe tres.
Have a beautiful Tuesday!
